The Markham Rotary Ribfest is presented by the Markham Rotary Club Foundation. The first Markham Rotary Ribfest was organized in 2003 to raise funds for local charities and for international aid projects supported by The Rotary International Foundation.
The event is now in its 14th year and this year, it has been selected to partner with the Downtown Markham project to enhance this new community where people meet, work, play and live.
Is to become one of Markham’s premier summer events where the community celebrates Markham’s rich diversity with fun, food and entertainment while supporting The Rotary International Foundation.
The Markham Rotary Club Foundation has engaged in several projects in both the local and world community. We are strong supporters of Markham-Stouffville Hospital and have contributed to local organizations that support the elderly, the ailing, the functionally disabled, and the families and youth of our community. In co-operation with other Rotary Clubs worldwide, we regularly assist third world countries by providing much needed services, the most prominent being the End Polio Now Program that, since 1985, has had the goal of globally eradicating Polio. We encourage the achievement of high standards of excellence with leadership training seminars for our members, Group Study programs and annual awards to students and members of our police and fire departments.
